Fleitz, I think even novice artists are familiar with the name of this brush. Surely you’ve heard artists in video lessons or met in literature, or maybe your drawing teacher told you. And for those who do not know, I will say: A brush with a long and soft bristle is called a flute. This brush is designed to soften the transitions in the picture between different paints that differ in color. With the help of a flute, they make the so-called stretching (transitions) of color, which they teach to write in the elementary grades of art school. This brush does not paint a picture, but is used to speed up and facilitate the work on creating soft shades. Using a flute in painting is extremely easy! For example, you paint a sunset, made a halo around the sun with yellow, orange and blue paint, then you can put the brush aside and smooth these colors together with a soft flute. This will create new shades and transitions where one color ends and the second begins.
